Police Blotter: 3 Holland Teens Cited for Underage Drinking

Northampton Police released recent blotter information on Wednesday, July 11, including citations for underage drinking and more.

released a recent crime summary for Friday, July 6 to Tuesday, July 10, which included underage drinking, criminal mischief and thefts.

Underage Drinking
Middle Holland Road by Rock Way

On Tuesday, July 10, three Holland teenagers were cited for violating the liquor law. Rachel Schenk, 18; James Buckley, 18; and a 16-year-old boy were cited after an officer on patrol encountered a vehicle stopped and blocking a lane of traffic.

Around 1 a.m., the officer saw the vehicle blocking the westbound lane of travel on Middle Holland Road between Rock Way and Holland Road. The people in and around the vehicle were seen yelling at each other. After investigating the subjects, the officer found that the original driver of the vehicle (Rachel Schenk) had been driving erratically, according to the other occupants.

The passengers made the driver pull over and another occupant took over the driving. As the vehicle continued on, the original driver, Schenk, began yelling at the new driver demanding he stop. This is when police located the vehicle.

After speaking with the occupants of the vehicle, the officer found that Schenk, along with Buckley and the 16-year-old had been drinking. The three subjects who were given citations, along with the other occupants of the vehicle—both who were 16-year-old females from Holland—were released to adults.

On Friday, July 6 a victim reported arriving at an acquaintance's home between 10:15 and 10:30 a.m. and after looking out the window an hour later finding that someone had keyed words into the paint of his vehicle. Damage was estimated at $1,000.

A homeowner reported that between the hours of 5:30 p.m. on Saturday, July 6 and 12:30 a.m. on Sunday, July 7 an unknown person smashed a double hung window on the front of the home. Damage was estimated at $100.

200 block of Lehigh Drive

A victim reported that sometime between 10 pm. on July 8 and 7 a.m. the following day, an unknown actor had smashed the windshield of the victims pick up truck with a square piece of metal tubing. No value of the damage was given.

Attempted Residential Burglary
Unit block of West Patricia Road

A complainant reported hearing her door bell ring several times around 1 a.m. on Tuesday, July 10. And then she heard a loud vehicle drive off. When she went downstairs she found that her enclosed rear patio had been entered and a brick thrown through a glass door leading into the home. The complainant was able to activate the homes interior and exterior lights from the master bedroom when she heard the noises. It is believed that her actions scared off the potential intruders.

Unit block of Hidden Cove Drive

On Tuesday, July 10, the complainant reported that sometime during the past week a patio chair was stolen from their pool area. The chair had an estimated value of $400.

The complainant reported that a $50 gift card was stolen from a locker sometime between June 1 and 2.
