NTPD Police Blotter: Mar. 9-11

Theft, burglary and alcohol-related incidents are reported in today's police blotter.

Thursday, March 8: Public Drunkenness on Hampton Drive

At 1:27 a.m. a resident reported a subject knocking at her from door who then tried to get into the home. The complainant stated she was able to keep the subject out of the house. On arrival officers located the subject in the driveway and were able to identify him as Geoffrey Leonard, 20, of Ridley Park, PA. Leonard was found to be highly intoxicated and having trouble standing. He was transported to NTPD headquarters and cited for Underage Drinking and Public Drunkenness before being released into the care and custody of his mother.

Theft on Sophia Drive

The victim reported that sometime overnight his mailbox and its post had been stolen. The items had a combined estimated value of $75.

Theft on Rosette Lane

The complainant reported that sometime between 11:30 p.m. Mar. 7 and 8:30 a.m. Mar. 8, his mailbox, valued at $25 was stolen from in front of the home.

Theft from Vehicle on Taylor’s Way

The complainant reported that sometime between 9 p.m. Mar. 7 and 7:30 a.m. Mar. 8, someone had entered his, and his wife’s, unlocked vehicles that were parked by the home and stole a GPS unit from each. The combined value of the devices was estimated to be $250.

Friday, March 9: Theft from Vehicle on Van horn Court

The victim reported that sometime overnight her unlocked vehicle that was parked in front of the house had been entered by unknown actor(s) who took a digital camera and $3 in cash from the center console.

Public Drunkenness at 345 Newtown–Richboro Road – Northampton Township Civic Center

At 7:21 p.m. an officer was investigating a vehicle in the parking lot of the Civic Center that had been reported as a possible DUI motorist. The vehicle's operator was found standing outside the vehicle and appeared to the officer to be intoxicated. The subject was identified as Michael Mazako, 26, of Havertown. He was cited for Public Drunkenness and Disorderly Conduct. Arrangements were made to have someone pick up Mazako and his passenger.

Saturday, March 10: Underage Drinking at the 300 block of Newtown–Richboro Road

At 3:47 a.m. an officer investigated a vehicle that was driving in and out of the parking lots in the 300 block of Newtown–Richboro Road tying to avoid the officer. The vehicle's driver, Michael Doan, 20, of Croydon, was found to have been operating while his license was suspended and was cited for the offense. One of the vehicles passengers, William Lawrence, 18, of Bristol, was found to be under the influence of alcohol and was cited for Underage Drinking. One of the other occupants was sober and able to drive the vehicle, and its occupants, home.

Forced Commercial Burglary at 106 Almshouse Road – Richboro Car Wash

A representative of the business reported finding upon their arrival at the business that sometime between 7 p.m. Mar. 9 and 7:15 a.m. Mar. 10, entry had been forced to the establishment. Found to have been taken from the business was approximately $100 in cash.

Theft on Bryan Drive

The complainant reported that sometime between Mar. 3 and 8, an iPhone, camera, and laptop computer were taken from his home. The combined value of the stolen items was reported at $2,575.

Sunday, March 11: DUI-Related Traffic Crash on Newtown–Richboro Road by Saint Leonard’s Road

At 3:10 a.m. officers responded to a report of a one vehicle traffic crash that the complainant had heard but not seen in the area of Newtown–Richboro Road by Saint Leonard’s Road. On arrival they found evidence of a crash in the area but the involved vehicle was not there. The vehicle was found on Saint Leonard’s Road by Sydney Road. Its operator, [Name Withheld], of Holland and his passenger were found to be uninjured. Officers' observations of [Name Withheld] led them to believe that he had been operating while under the influence. He was taken into custody and transported to the Saint Mary Medical Center where samples of his blood were obtained for analysis. He was then brought to NTPD headquarters and processed before being released. Charges relating to DUI are pending the lab report.
