NTPD Police Blotter: Mar. 2-7

Stolen property and a DUI-related traffic accident are in today's police blotter.

Friday, March 2: Criminal Mischief at the 100 block of Bellwood Drive

The complainant reported that sometime between 8 p.m. Feb. 28 and 7 a.m. Feb. 29, someone had placed sugar into his gas tank.  Damage was estimated at $800.

Monday, March 5: Theft from Motor Vehicle at 35 Steamwhistle Drive – MX Industrial Distributors

A business representative reported finding that sometime overnight the registration plate for a trailer on the property had been stolen.

Theft from Motor Vehicle at 47 Steamwhistle Drive – Damage Control Consultants

The business manager reported that sometime between 12:50 a.m. and 1:20 a.m. Mar. 4, someone had broken into a box truck and trailer on the property.  Found to have been taken was a table saw, tools, bathroom vanity, six 5-gallon cans containing diesel fuel, two 5-gallon cans containing gasoline and a light.  No value was given for the stolen items.

Theft from Vehicle at the 200 block of Cherry Blossom Drive

The victim reported that sometime overnight his unlocked vehicle had been entered by unknown actor(s) who stole a camera, iPod Nano and a utility knife.  The combined value of the items was estimated to be $125.

 

Wednesday, March 7: DUI-Related Traffic Crash at West Bristol Road by Davisville Road

At 12:20 a.m. officers responded to a reported traffic crash in the 200 block of West Bristol Road. On arrival they found that a vehicle that had been traveling westbound struck a vehicle in front of it that was attempting to make a left turn into a residential driveway. Neither of the operators was found to have been injured both vehicles however required towing. The operator of the striking vehicle was identified as Alexander Ostash, 22, of Warminster, and believed by officers, based on his appearance, actions and inability to successfully complete a series of field dexterity tests, to have been driving while impaired. Ostash was transported to the Saint Mary Medical Center where samples of his blood and urine were obtained for analysis. He was then brought to NTPD headquarters for processing before being released. Charges relating to DUI are pending the lab report.
