NTPD Police Blotter: Mar. 13-18

Theft, a missing stop sign and a "sucker" punch assault are in this week's blotter.

Tuesday, March 13: Attempted Residential Burglary at the 100 block of Gwyn Lynn Drive

The resident reported having left the home at 8:10 a.m. and returning at about 8:45 p.m., discovering upon his return that unknown actor(s) had attempted to force entry into the home via a basement window.

Wednesday, March 14: Underage Drinking at Saint Leonard’s Road and Tree Line Drive

At 12:49 a.m. an officer on patrol came upon a group of three males walking in the area of Saint Leonard’s Road and Tree Line Drive, all were wearing dark-colored clothing. When the subjects saw the officer two started walking away, one ran. The two that were walking away were detained. One of them, Connor Moore, 19, of Holland, was found to be in possession of, and had consumed an alcoholic beverage. Moore was cited for the liquor law violation. Both subjects were transported to their respective homes. The third individual was not located.

Theft at East Heron Road and Woodenbridge Road

An area resident reported that sometime overnight unknown actor(s) had stolen one of the stop signs from the intersection. The sign, property of Northampton Township, had an estimated value of $25.

 

Thursday, March 15: Theft at 1025 2nd Street Pike – Richboro Shop N Bag

The store manager reported someone had once again removed cardboard bails from behind the store. The most recent incident occurred between 6:30 p.m. Mar. 14 and 6 a.m. Mar. 15, during which four bails, weighing 200–500 pounds, valued at $30-50 were stolen.

Theft at the 200 block of American Drive

The resident reported her new, Northampton Township recycling bin had been stolen from curbside sometime during the day.

 

Friday, March 16: Theft on Plumly Way

The complainant reported that sometime between 6 a.m. Dec. 15, 2011, and 2 p.m. Mar. 11, approximately $5,500 worth of jewelry was stolen from her residence.

 

Saturday, March 17: Public Drunkenness at 1034 2nd Street Pike – Schoolhouse Shopping Center

While patrolling the parking lot of the Schoolhouse Shopping Center at 12:35 a.m. an officer observed a subject stumbling on the sidewalk by the Richboro Pub. While officers were speaking with the subject he became agitated and began yelling at patrons entering and exiting the pub. The subject was identified as Duane Peper, 59, of Downingtown, and he will be cited for Public Drunkenness and Disorderly Conduct. Officers transported the subject to a family member’s home in the area.

Vandalism at the 100 block of Orthodox Drive

The complainant reported finding that their mailbox had been pulled out of the ground sometime between 11 p.m. Mar. 16 and 6 a.m. Mar 17. There was no damage to the box. Officers found that two other homes on the street also had their mailboxes pulled from the ground, neither of which sustained any damage.

 

Sunday, March 18: DUI at West Village Road by Heather Valley Road

An officer on patrol at 1:06 a.m. observed a vehicle traveling northbound on Buck Road at a high rate of speed and being operated in an erratic manner. When the officer attempted to stop the vehicle by East Holland Road it accelerated to speeds in excess of 70 m.p.h. The vehicle turned left onto West Village Road where it finally yielded to the police vehicle by Heather Valley Road. The operator was identified as Jonathan Cameron, 45, of Holland, who, in the officer's opinion, appeared to be under the influence. Cameron was unable to successfully complete a series of field dexterity tests and was taken into custody on suspicion of having been driving while intoxicated. He was transported to the Saint Mary Medical Center where samples of his blood were obtained for analysis, then to NTPD headquarters for processing. After processing he as released to a family member. Charges relating to DUI are pending the lab report.

Assault at 1034 2nd Street Pike – Richboro Pub

NTPD was contacted by staff at the Saint Mary Medical Center reporting a patient in their facility that had reportedly been assaulted at the Richboro Pub.  An officer went to the hospital and spoke to the 23-year-old male victim who stated his girlfriend had been dancing on the bar when he decided to join her. Security personnel removed the two from the bar top and escorted them from the building. While outside and speaking with security about re-entering he was sucker punched from behind by an unknown person. Investigation into the incident is continuing.

Criminal Mischief at the 100 block of Heritage Drive

A 11:50 p.m.  a caller reported juveniles in the parking lot hitting vehicles with baseball bats. The actors reportedly fled the area in a white Ford Taurus prior to police arrival. Officers arrived on location and found a vehicle with two flattened tires and broken rear taillights. The value of the damage was not known.
