On arrival they found the driver, Ryan Morris, 35, of Newtown still trapped in the SUV. Units from the Northampton Township Fire Co. extricated him. He was then transported to the Saint Mary Medical Center for the treatment of his injuries. Investigation found that Morris had been traveling east on Middle Holland Road when, as he approached West Village Road, he passed a vehicle on the left as it was turning right. In regaining his lane of travel Morris lost control striking the curb line on the south side of the road twice and at one point partially entering onto adjacent grass with his right side wheels. While attempting to regain the roadway the vehicle crossed through the westbound lane of travel and struck the utility pole on the northwest corner of Middle Holland and Saint Leonard’s Roads, sheering it from its base. The vehicle then passed through that intersection striking the curb line on the northeast side of it. The vehicle then flipped a minimum of four times through the front yards of two homes in the 400 block of Middle Holland Road before coming to rest. Middle Holland Road remained closed for eight hours as PECO replaced the pole.
