Northampton Township Volunteer Fire Company will celebrate 100 years of service with a free Centennial Celebration on May 31. The celebration is open to the public and will feature family activities, food and a touch a truck event.
“As a way to honor and
commemorate this milestone, the Northampton Township Supervisors and Centennial
Celebration Committee invite the public, along with the fire company members
and their families, to spend an afternoon to recognize and thank those who have
served Northampton Township through the decades," the township said in an announcement.
The Centennial Celebration will be held from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Northampton Municipal Park. It will include a firefighter information booth, “touch a truck” with a variety of trucks on display, free hot dogs, Rita’s water ice, pretzels, a disc jockey Sparky the Mascot, kids activities and more. Kids activities include face painting, magic, balloons and a moon bounce.
“A Northampton firefighter gives upward of 50 hours of volunteer time in a typical month. The reward they receive is the satisfaction of a job well down and the challenge of helping others in their moment of need,” according to an announcement from the township.
The rain date is the next day, June 1 (same time and place).
