762 Pounds of Drugs Collected at Saturday Take Back Event

Northampton police collected 762 pounds of unwanted pills Saturday. A total of 6,710 pounds of unwanted medications were collected across Bucks County.

More than 762 pounds of unwanted medications were collected Saturday by Northampton Township police during a Drug Take Back event at Richboro Shop N Bag.

The event, sponsored by the Drug Enforcement Administration, was held nationwide. In Bucks County, a total of 6,710 pounds were collected at multiple drop off sites. That's more than was collected last year.

Northampton Police Chief Barry Pilla said Saturday's successful event was "another outstanding job keeping unneeded drugs out of our environment and the hands of those who should not have or need them."

Pilla thanked District Attorney Dave Heckler and all those "who work diligently on this annual, very worthwhile project."

He also recognized Debbie Moskovitz, Donna Fosiey and others from Council Rock Coalition for Healthy Youth (CRCHY) and Officer Steve Kingsdorf for their continued work on the program.
