Intoxicated Man Breaks in to Home, Lies on Couch

And a Woodlake Drive resident reported that someone stole $10,000 cash from a dresser.

Officers received a report of a burglary in progress in the 400 block of Buck Road at about 11:30 p.m. on Saturday. Upon arrival, the resident reported finding a male lying by a couch in the home. Officers located the subject, identified as David Smith, 40, of Holland. 

Smith was found to be intoxicated and had entered the home through an unsecured window. He was taken into custody and transported to police headquaters where he was processed and charged with Criminal Trespass, Public Drunkenness and related offenses. He was arraigned before District Judge Kelly and released on $20,000 unsecured bail.

Tuesday, Jan. 1

The complainant, a Sterling Court resident, reported that sometime between 10:30 p.m. and midnight on Dec. 31 an unknown actor(s) cut his outside Christmas lights.  Damage was estimated at $20.

A property owner on Taylor’s Way reported that sometime between midnight and noon a flag with an image of Santa on it and flag pole were stolen from the front of her home.  The items had a combined estimated value of $25.  

Thursday, Jan. 3

The victim reported that sometime between 5 p.m. on Jan. 2 and 2 p.m. on Jan. 3, $10,000 in cash was stolen from a dresser in a home on Woodlake Drive.
