When the first firefighters arrived, the driver got out of his car and became combative, police confirm. One witness to the incident said she said the driver appeared drunk, which police said is something they are investigating.

The 92-year-old woman who lives in the home is away from the area and no one was inside the dwelling at the time of the accident.

Building inspectors were on-scene attempting to survey the extent of the damage from the impact of the truck, authorities said.

Police said the car was headed toward Second Street Pike when the driver failed to turn and drove straight into the front of the house leaving "serious damage."

The front of the pick-up pierced into the basement and living room of the elderly woman's house, according to police.

The Northampton Fire Company had to free three of the people from the truck and remained on-scene to secure the home, said Northampton Fire Chief Adam Selisker.

The accident left Second Street Road closed for hours as the investigation occured.

The Tri-Hampton Rescue Squad was assisted by Warminster Ambulance and Newtown. Police from Upper Southampton and Newtown also provided assistant to Northampton Police and fire crews.

Police confirm the accident is still under investigation and there is no official cause as of yet.
