Fiery Crash Leaves One Injured
Police are still investigating the cause of the wreck that left a car charred and a man with a leg injury.
When police arrived to the 1600 block of Chinquapin Road early Monday morning, they discovered a car on fire and on its roof in the middle of the street, with the driver laying just feet away, Northampton Police Chief Barry Pilla said.
Thomas Warzocha, 21, of Holland is believed to have dragged himself from the car to safety after the two-door car he was driving in hit a tree then rolled back onto the street and burst into flames on windy Chinquapin Road, Pilla said.
Warzocha did suffer a serious leg injury in the crash and was taken by the Tri-Hampton Rescue Squad to St. Mary's Hospital in Middletown, where he was treated and also had blood taken, Pilla said.

Pilla said that Warzocha's blood has been sent to the Bucks County Crime Lab to be tested and charges are pending the outcome of the samples.
Pilla said investigators believe that Warzocha was under the influence at the time of the accident, which was reported to police at 3:04 a.m.

Members from the Northampton Township Volunteer Fire Company responded and extinguished the car, which was towed from the scene, Pilla reported.
