NTPD released recent blotter information, which included a possible DUI incident.

DUI charges are pending for a man who police initially pulled over for running a red light, according to a recent police blotter from the Northampton Township Police Department.

On Sunday, Sept. 16 around 12:28 a.m., a police officer saw a vehicle "run a steady red traffic signal" at West Village Road while driving northbound on Buck Road, according to police reports.

The vehicle was stopped at Heather Valley Road and West Village Road. The driver of the vehicle was a 21-year-old man from Holland, reports said.

The officer's observation of the man, along with his inability to successfully complete a series of field dexterity tests led to his being taken into custody on suspicion of driving while under the influence.

He was transported to the Saint Mary Medical Center where samples of his blood were taken for analysis. He was then brought to Northampton Township Police Department headquarters for processing.
