Driver Hits 2 Poles, Stumbles Through Yards, Police Say

Charges are pending, police say.

A Newtown man faces charges after police say he was drinking and driving and hit two utility poles early Tuesday.

According to Northampton Township Police, Scott Curley, 36, was involved in a one-car accident on Second Street Pike by Tapeworm Road shortly after 1 a.m.

When officers arrived, they said Curley was stumbling through the front yards of nearby homes.  They said Curley “displayed signs of having been drinking.” 

Curley was transported by ambulance to the Saint Mary Medical Center for evaluation.  Police continue to investigate the incident and charges relating to DUI are pending.
