Dec. 29th Welcome Home and Flag Exchange for Lance Cpl. Dan Croak

Dec. 29th Welcome Home and Flag Exchange for Marine Lance Cpl. Dan Croak

On Saturday, December 29th at 3:00p.m. at the Northampton Township building located 55 Township Rd, Richboro, PA, we will be having another welcome home and flag exchange, this time for Northampton Patriot USMC Lance Corporal Daniel Croak of Churchville.

Dan will be home for only a few days and is currently stationed at Camp Lejeune, NC.  Dan previously had a tour of duty in Afghanistan back in 2011 and had recently toured the Middle East.  Just when Dan was going to come back stateside from that tour, Dan and an elite team of about 50 fellow Marines were sent to Sanaa, Yemen last September to bolster security at our embassy after it was attacked around the same time of the September 13th US embassy attack in Benghazi.

Folks, the name Croak may be familiar to many of us because the name relates to the tremendous “Socks for Soldiers” campaign that we had last year when thousands of pairs of socks were collected, donated and shipped to our troops in Afghanistan due to the efforts of the Croaks, Northampton Township, its residents, the kids at Council Rock and Famous Footwear.

As we did last week with Lance Corporal Ed Cotton, since there is no public meeting of the Township Supervisors until later in January, we have made special arrangements for the use of the building on Saturday the 29th solely to welcome home Lance Corporal Croak and present him with his USMC flag which will be replaced by an American flag in the display at the ceremony. The event will start at 3:00PM and should last for about 15 minutes or so.

Dan and his wife Leah had a baby boy back in August, Danny, Jr., and they will be there with him along with his mom and dad, Kathy and George Croak at the Welcome Home and flag retrieval.

Please enjoy the upcoming Christmas and New Year holiday season and if your schedule permits, please come out and join us to welcome home this Northampton Patriot.   Don’t hesitate to contact me if you have any questions.
