Create a Beautiful, Functional Kitchen with Cabinet Accessories

Looking to maximize storage inside your kitchen cabinets? We have some great ideas for you!

So much emphasis is placed on creating a visually attractive kitchen design during the planning phase of a project. Layout, wood selection, door style, finish, backsplash, countertops and hardware are given a great deal of thought and consideration.

While these decisions are all very important, we here at Churchville Kitchen & Home Design strive to create kitchens that are not only beautiful to look at, but are also functional and well-organized spaces. A great way to organize your kitchen and maximize storage space is to consider some of the many interior cabinet fittings that are now available.

Here are a few examples:

TALL PANTRY PULLOUT STORAGE

Tall, deep pantry cabinets are a wonderful cabinets to add to your new kitchen design.  The only problem with cabinets that are tall and deep is once you put all of the items you would like to store inside them, it may be hard to reach or even remember what you have sitting on the back of your shelves.  a nice way to solve that storage problem is by adding a tall pantry pullout to your cabinet.  This metal pullout rack attaches to the cabinet door, and is a great way to access and view otherwise hard-to-reach items stored in the back of your cabinet.

PULLOUT SPICE RACK

Another item that we offer is a pullout spice rack.  The one that is shown in the photo is actually attached to a half-turned post with a finger route on the side for ease of opening.    It's nice to put one of these off to one side of your oven so you can easily access your spices.  What is particularly great about the way this is designed is that the rack is totally hidden inside the kitchen; it doesn't take up any countertop or drawer space and is filling up an otherwise empty space.

WOOD DOUBLE CUTLERY DIVIDER

Most people hae some type of cutlery divider in their kitchen, but a wood double cutlery divider really maximizes the usable interior drawer space.  The lower cutlery divider is fixed inside the bottom of the drawer, while the upper cutlery divider is on glides and when the drawer is open, can be pushed into the back of the drawer so the divider beneath can be accessed.  This is a really great, functional detail to add to your kitchen design.

MAGIC CORNER UNIT

We have found the Magic Corner Unit to be the best storage solution for a blind corner base cabinet.  A metal rack is attached to the cabinet door which pulls out of the cabinet and pulls a second metal rack forward into the opening of the cabinet.  When the cabinet door is closed, it looks just like any other cabinet in your kitchen.  This is another great idea for utilizing otherwise empty space in your kitchen.

We here at Churchville Kitchen & Home Design in Churchville, Pa., hope that we have given you some storage inspirations.  All of the items featured in this article are on display in our beautiful Bucks County showroom.  You are invited to stop in and take a look at these accessories in person.  We look forward to meeting you, and creating the kitchen of your dreams.
