This weekend's walk through the Nature Center

Scenes from the Churchville Nature Center.

The Nature Center woods are filled with the sounds of birds. Birders were out to catch the Warbler migration. A few types of Warblers like the Ovenbird will stay while others are just passing through to destinations farther north. The Ovenbird's name is derived from the dome-shaped nest it constructs which resembles a Dutch oven.

I also came across a Wood Thrush on her nest. Check out this week's gallery of bird's and other scenes at the Churchville Nature Center.
