Silhouettes—simple elegance from the past touching the present. Silhouettes, popular in the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries, were representations of loved ones that were more affordable for the common man than portraiture. If you would like to touch the past, Ludy Ferreira, a silhouette artist with a genius, will lovingly create silhouettes ($15.00 for single person; $25.00 for a couple) for library patrons on December 1 from 10am-12noon and 2pm-4:45pm. Ludy’s art is a labor of love; thus, all proceeds will be donated to the Northampton Library. Great for holiday gifts. Please sign up for a time slot at the library (small deposit required)
