Big River - The Musical

The Catasauqua High School Drama Club is presenting the 1985 Tony Award winning Musical: Big River. This is a musical version of the Mark Twain classic Huckleberry Finn.  The Book is by William Hauptman with Music and Lyrics by Roger Miller, famed country songwriter of such hits as "King Of The Road", "Dang Me", "Chug A Lug" and "Husbands and Wives". As with the novel, the story follows the adventures of Huck and runaway slave Jim as they set out to find freedom on the Mississippi River. On the way they encounter a colorful cast of characters while growing into a mutual respect for each other beyond the racial and social divisions of 19th Century America.

The production boasts a cast of 25 students which features Patric Corrocher as Huck and Kanyi Creppy as Jim. Also featured are Emmie Ledesma, Paul Fox, Connor Green, Vanessa Abel, Samantha Diaz, Natalie Falcone, Janelle Roth, Laura Kaeppel, Thalia Santiago, Nikaule Florence, Andrew Rice and many others. This also marks the 38th musical collaboration of Robert Fahringer and Richard E. Milne at Catasauqua High School.

Joining the Orchestra this year is Harmonica Master Brian Brazil, recently nominated for the annual Lehigh Valley Music Awards as Outstanding Harmonicist. Performances will be given on Thursday, March 6th / Friday, March 7th, Saturday, March 8th - all @ 7 PM. There will also be a 2 PM MATINEE on Sunday, March 9th.
