Week in Review: Feb. 27 to Mar. 4

Here's a wrap of the major stories in Northampton this week

  • Route 232 Bridge to Close for One Month: The bridge on 2nd Street Pike between Twining Road and Tapeworm Lane will be closed for a month beginning Friday, March 4, at 9 a.m. Traffic will be detoured around the construction over Route 332 and Route 413.
  • Something for Everyone at Jake’s Eatery: This locally owned restaurant is one of the longest-running in the area and serves some of the most unique dishes. Owner Stephen G. Jacobs has always worked in the restaurant business, and now he offers good food and delicious specials like the bayou omelette and chocolate pancakes at his own place.
  • Possible Ordinance to Further Restrict Burning: A new ordinance, if passed, would restrict all outdoor burning excepting cooking, recreational, educational and ceremonial purposes. This would replace chapter 66 of the Northampton Township Code of Ordinance.
  • School Board Approves More Redistricting: After three months of informational meetings and discussions, the school board passed another redistricting motion last night effective in the coming school year so that all students from Rolling Hills Elementary will attend Richboro Middle School and all students from Chuchville Elementary will attend Holland Middle School.
