Weather Service Issues Wind Advisory

Hold onto your hats.

The National Weather Service has issued a wind advisory for the surrounding area including Bucks, Montgomery and Philadelphia counties.

The advisory is in effect until 9 p.m.

Sustained winds of 20 to 30 mph are expected gusting from 45 to 50 mph.

The Weather Service said strong wind gusts can knock down tree limbs and possibly some weaker trees, especially with the recent rainfall. Isolated power outages may occur.

The winds could also make it difficult to drive high profile vehicles especially on bridges and other elevated roadways.

Motorists should use extra caution especially those in high profile vehicles. Light-weight outdoor objects such as patio furniture and garbage cans should be secured.

Here’s the local forecast:

This Afternoon: Partly sunny, with a high near 62. Breezy, with a west wind between 23 and 25 mph, with gusts as high as 39 mph.
Tonight: Mostly clear, with a low around 32. Breezy, with a west wind 19 to 22 mph decreasing to between 7 and 10 mph.
Saturday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 51. Calm wind becoming southwest between 6 and 9 mph.
Saturday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 32. West wind between 8 and 10 mph.
Sunday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 47. West wind between 6 and 8 mph.
Sunday Night: A slight chance of rain showers, mixing with snow after 11pm, then gradually ending. Partly cloudy, with a low around 30. Chance of precipitation is 20%.
