Local to Open "Haunted" House to Public

Tom Baust will open his house, the "Murder House" to the public today from noon to 4 p.m.

Local professional musician Tom Baust will open his house for the sixth year to the public today from noon to 4 p.m. so visitors can experience "the Murder House."

Historian Virginia Geyer will explain to guests who tour the stone farmhouse at 115 Middle Holland, Rd., the details of the famous double murders of 1893 and the hanging in 1894 of a half-Cherokee Indian who committed the crimes.

The home is also located adjacent to a small historic cemetery, which is the final resting place for several Revolutionary War soldiers.

During the afternoon, live performers will entertain visitors on the lawn behind
the farmhouse. Antiques will be on display, including a large original bust of the first Catholic signer of the Declaration of Independence, the grand rosewood Jenny Lind piano, Civil War items, oil paintings of Philadelphia Military Group 1877 and more. Some antiques and household items will be for sale.

Food and drink is available for a donation, as well as raffle items. There is no fee for the event, but donations are appreciated.

Singers and instrumentalists from the University of the Arts and the Philly Pops will perform as well as several local entertainers from the Bucks County Singers, Pennsbury High School chorale, and singers from "The Fantasticks."

Guests may park on the adjacent field or use a free shuttle bus from Council
Rock South student parking lot on Rock Way, just around the corner from the Baust House.
