Grant Money Up For Grabs For Nonprofits

The IMPACT Awards will give 10 local organizations grant money for their acheivements

GlaxoSmithKline has found a way to give back to those who give back with the pharmaceutical company's 15th Annual IMPACT Awards, to be held later in the year.

At the ceremony, representatives will present up to 10 local nonprofit healthcare groups with grants of $40,000 each to help them further their mission.

The IMPACT Awards (reconition of Innovation, Management, Partnership, Achievement, Community focus and Targeting needs) seek to highlight nonprofits who make a significant difference in the community, are accomplished and effective and provide quality healthcare to those who cannot afford or access it, according to a press release.

Applicants must have annual operating expenses between $160,000 and $3 million, have been operating as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization for at least five years, as of 2011 and provide access to healthcare services, according to the release. 

The organization must also be based in Berks, Bucks, Chester, Delaware, Lancaster, Lehigh or Montgomery counties, in Philadelphia or in Camden, New Jersey.

Organizations must apply by 4:00 p.m. on March 31 by visiting the GlaxoSmithKline site and selecting “Our work with communities,” then clicking “Health programs,” then clicking “Awards,” and finally clicking “Philadelphia area.” Or call GlaxoSmithKline Community Partnerships at (215) 751-5171.
