Five Things You Need to Know

Here's your "five" for Aug. 25, 2011

  • The Department of Environmental Protection will hold a public meeting tonight at 7 in the Administration Building to discuss the water issues in the west end of the township. There will be time for public comment as well.
  • The funeral services for Holland teen Carleigh Jones will be tomorrow from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the Joseph A. Fluehr III Funeral Home, followed by mass at St. Andrew's in Newtown at noon.
  • "Our Miss Brooks" will be performed tonight by the Newtown Arts Company and is directed by Council Rock South's own Lori Steel Naglak. The show starts at 7:30 p.m. at the Newtown Theatre and tickets are $16-19.
  • Irene is on her way! Thunderstorms likely today with the possibility of wind gusts and a high near 88, according to the National Weather Service.
