Five Things You Need to Know

Here's your "five" for June 14, 2011.

  • Today is Flag Day and Northampton will celebrate with a ceremony at the Municipal Park. If you have old American flags you need to dispose of, join the Veterans Advisory Committee, several local boy scout troops and township supervisors at 7 p.m. as they perform the proper protocol to get rid of them.
  • Do you want to learn more about holistic medicine? Newtown Parks and Recreation is offering a workshopdiscussing natural supplements and healing with instructor Jack Bowen, R.Ph. Sign up online here.
  • All this week drop in at the library for arts and crafts from noon to 4 p.m. and don't forget to sign up for summer events as well.
  • Showers in the afternoon with a high near 72 today, according to the National Weather Service.
