Five Things You Need to Know

Here's your "five" for March 2, 2011.

  • One fish, two fish... Today is Read Across America day! Sponsored by the National Education Association, also known as Dr. Seuss's birthday, the holiday is a national initiative to encourage schoolchildren to read more and celebrate reading as a fun activity.
  • The Council Rock South Orchestra parents will meet tonight to discuss events going on with the orchestra, including their upcoming trip to France. 
  • It's the first Wednesday of the month, which means it's Philly Pretzel Sale day at . Before school from 8:45 to 9:15, the PTO will sell preztels at 50 cents a piece and the proceeds support student activities.
  • Today's a pick-up day for Market Day at Holland Elementary from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. This program is an easy way to support the PTO and order healthy, delicious food for your family. They're always looking for volunteers as well so if you're interested contact Susan Wendling at (267) 934-5681.
  • Sunny skies again today with a high close to 54, according to the National Weather Service.
