Five Things You Need to Know

Here's your "five" for Feb. 15, 2011.

  • Are you passionate about Red Cross's mission? The Lower Bucks County chapter of the American Red Cross will hold a new volunteers orientation tonight from 5:30 to 7 at the office, 1909 Veteran’s Highway, in Levittown. Those wishing to volunteer at blood drives and other events must take this class to help out, and it's only offered twice a month. Register for this session by calling (215) 946-4870 ext. 103 or emailing mkeiser@redcrosslbcc.org
  • Do you feel a call to the stage? The Langhorne Players are holding open auditions for their first play of the season, Mauritaus, tonight and tomorrow at 6:30 p.m. at Pennswood Village, 1382 Newtown-Langhorne Rd., Newtown, in the Community Building. If you want to audition, email Marie directly at marie@pagecrafter.net to make an appointment or with any questions.
  • The Orchestra is going to France and they need your help! Eat lunch or dinner at The Green Parrot in Newtown today and the restaurant will donate 15 percent of your check to the fundraising efforts. 
  • is putting on "Beauty and the Beast" twice today at 1:20 p.m. and 7 p.m. Doors open at 6:30 so get ready to see RES's rendition of the classic story!
  • The area's spring fling was short-lived, and it's back to some chilly weather today. Wind gusts could hit 37 m.p.h., according to the National Weather Service. Hold onto your hats, Northampton!
