Downed Trees a Problem in Northampton Township

Downed trees have caused power outages throughout Northampton Township.

Many residents have reported downed trees throughout the township, some of which have been the cause of loss of power.

A tree was blocking Old Jordan Road on Tuesday morning, and many trees were down around Holland Elementary School, according to reports from Patch readers. Township Manager Bob Pellegrino told PhillyBurbs that trees fell on three houses—two of which were on Mallard Road.

One Patch reader, Lorraine Parrillo, said that a tree knocked down the power line from her house to the main line on the road, and that she was having a difficult time reporting the issue to PECO.

PECO is currently working to restore 850,000 customers who are without power. As of 9:30 p.m. on Tuesday, 3,500 customers throughout Northampton Township are still without power. The company said it may take up to a week to fully restore power.
