Dec. 21: Last Day of School Before Winter Break

1. Today is the last day of school for Council Rock students before Winter Break begins. Classes will start back up on Jan. 2, 2013.

3. A 5K race is being organized in memory of Benjamin Wheeler, the son of a Council Rock graduate who died in last week's shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary.

4. FYI: If you plan on getting alcohol for your Christmas and New Year's celebrations, get it early as all liquor stores in Pennsylvania will be shuttered by 6 p.m. on Christmas Eve and 8 p.m. on New Years’ Eve.

5. Weather: There's an 80 percent chance of showers before 10 a.m., with a high near 50 degrees, according to the National Weather Service. The evening will be mostly cloudy with a low around 31 degrees.
