Candlelight Vigil for JoePa to be Held in Love Park on Friday
Vigil open to alumni, students, fans and supporters will honor the life and legacy of Joe Paterno on Friday, Jan. 27 form 6 to 8 p.m. at Love Park.
A candlelight vigil in honor of the late Joe Paterno will be held in Love Park on Friday, Jan. 27 from 6 to 8 p.m., hosted by the Philadelphia Chapter of the Penn State Alumni Association.
The vigil is open to Penn State alumni, students, fans, and supporters in the Philadelphia area who wish to pay their respects to Paterno. The event will focus on his 61 years of service to the community and his life long legacy of scholarship.
According to the release from Penn State Alumni Association, the family has asked in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Special Olympics of Pennsylvania or the Penn State-THON, The Penn State IFC/Panhellenic Dance Marathon. Donations for both of these charities will be collected at the event.
