Newtown Welcome Day is Sunday

Welcome Day will be held Sunday on Sycamore Street in Newtown from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. It will feature giveaways, food, entertainment, kids activities and more.

If you're looking for something to do this weekend, there will be plenty of outdoor fun and family entertainment in Newtown.

Sunday is Welcome Day, Newtown's annual street fair, which will be held on Sycamore Street from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Approximately 170 crafters, artists and local business owners will have tables with information, giveaways and products.

The event also features food, entertainment, kids activities and more. It is free and sponsored by the Newtown Business Association. As many as 10,000 people typically attend the annual event.

This year, country radio station XTU will be broadcasting live from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. The current forecast calls for perfect weather: sunshine and highs in the mid 60s.
