Writer Ben Marcus to do Reading at BCCC

Fiction writer Ben Marcus is coming to Bucks County Community College as part of the Wordsmith Reading Series.

Fiction writer Ben Marcus will come to Newtown next month for a reading at Bucks County Community College on April 5.

The reading, part of Bucks County Community College’s Wordsmiths Reading Series, will be held from 11 a.m. to noon. The event is free and open to the public.   

Marcus, a New York City-based author, has written four books, including "The Age of Wire and String" and his newest novel, "The Flame Alphabet." His work has been published in The New Yorker, The Paris Review, The New York Times, Salon, McSweeney's and Time.

He is the recipient of the Morton Dauwen Zabel Award from the American Academy of Arts and Letters, a Whiting Writers Award, a NEA Fellowship in fiction and three Pushcart Prizes. Marcus is currently an associate professor at Columbia University.

The reading will take place in room 128 of Tyler Hall on the Newtown Campus.
