The arts center is seeking to raise $8,500 to support the kiln project. A fundraising page has been launched on Indiegogo. So far, $4,493 has been raised.

"We started with a pledge from a local artist, a pile of repurposed bricks and very hardworking volunteers. Our dreams are within reach!," the Tyler Park Center for the Arts website reads.

The wood-fired kiln will be constructed on site. There's even a workshop in which students can assist in brick laying.

"This kiln will be a permanent fixture in Tyler State Park lasting years and experienced by many. Students from nearby high schools and colleges, professional artists, and adult students will come from all over our region to participate in the process of wood firing," the arts center website states.
