'Snoopy' to Visit Municipal Park

The Once Upon A Time Players will perform the musical "Snoopy" next Sunday, June 5 at the Municipal Park's Ampitheater. The event is free and open to the public.

Got a Charles Schulz fan on your hands? Or just a child that really likes music and performing arts?

Then mark your calendars for next Sunday, when the Once Upon A Time Players will perform two free showings of “Snoopy” the musical at the Northampton Municipal Park Ampitheater. The performance is June 5 at 7 p.m. It’s a theatre under the stars, so bring a lawn chair or blanket to the show, member Brendan Stackhouse said. The show is free; donations to support the Once Upon A Time Players are appreciated.

The Once Upon A Time Players theatre organization is comprised of 75 performers and crew members who are all in their teens and early 20s, Stackhouse said. The group is based in Richboro, Pennsylvania and performs throughout the Philadelphia and New Jersey region.  The group is self-funded and operates solely on donations and contributions from their audiences.

The “Snoopy” production is a 55-minute series of scenes from the beloved comic strip “Peanuts.” The musical features seven of the characters: Snoopy, Peppermint Patty, Charlie Brown, Linus and Woodstock.

“It's very cute and fun with lots of singing, dancing, tapping, and humor,” Stackhouse said. “Snoopy is perfect for people of all ages. Anyone will love it.”
