Fall can be drab, so brighten up your life by getting out of dodge. Luckily, Philadelphia isn't too far away for fall fun—and our Fall in Philly feature can help guide you there.
If you feel like venturing out a little farther from home, check here for a weekly suggestion of something fun or interesting to do in the City of Brotherly Love. Whether it's a restaurant to try, a festival to attend or special museum exhibits, we'll feature something different every Thursday.
To mark Nov. 11, 2011—11/11/11—celebrate with the 11th Hour Theater Company. The theater group will host an 11-hour gala, which will entertain adults and children.
The 11th Hour Theater Co. has teamed up with The Philadelphia Veterans Multi-Service & Education Center, Inc.—in honor of Veterans Day—The Make-A-Wish Foundation—in honor of 11:11, the time to make a wish—and a team of theatre artists to bring 11 hours of 11th Hour to Philadelphia.
From 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., the event will include dance, music and puppet workshops for children, appetizers, drinks and a silent auction for adults and much more.
In the morning, while children ages 7-12 work on a mini-musical production, parents can snack on brunch hors’ d’oeuvres and enter to win raffle prizes. Later in the day, adults are invited to attend the 5:30 p.m. USO-themed Happy Hour at World Café Live. The event concludes with the 11 o’clock Numbers concert at 8 p.m., which features showcases of several Broadway shows.
11th Hour is splitting 10 percent of the proceeds with The Make-A-Wish Foundation and The Philadelphia Veterans Multi-Service & Education Center.
