Volunteers, Contest Entries Still Needed for Northampton Days Fair

The Northampton Days Planning Committee met Wednesday, August 29.

The planning committee met Wednesday night to discuss what is still needed for the 17th annual fair Sept. 9.

Northampton Days will have a parade, food, games, and a talent show. The talent show did exceed the maximum entries, but another contest still needs submissions. The Council Rock Coalition for Healthy Youth (CRCHY), which supports the national “Above the Influence” anti-drug campaign, is holding a contest called the Teens Expressions Art Project.

Council Rock School District students ages 12-17 are invited to participate by decorating or coloring the Above the Influence logo. First through third prize winners get a cash prize, first prize winning $100. Submissions are accepted up to 4pm on Sunday Sept. 9.

Also, the Phillie Phanatic, Phillies ball girls, Barclay Farm ponies and members of the military will be in attendance. There will be about 12 vendors, many of which are returners, and even more booths accommodated with 91 tables and 244 chairs.

None of this is possible without the help of volunteers. Students participating in the L.I.N.C.S. volunteer program will be in abundance as well as some adults from the work release program in Doylestown. However, Fred Stewart stresses that you can never have too many helping hands.

“It seems you never have enough,” he said.

Stewart said that they are still welcoming volunteers. In fact, you can volunteer up to the day of the festival.  If you would like to volunteer, please contact Carol Dubas at CaDubas@yahoo.com.

The planning committee will meet again next Wednesday, Sept. 5. The big day is Sept. 9 from 10am to 5pm, rain or shine, at Richboro Middle School. For more information, go to the Northampton Days website or Facebook page.
