Tell Us: What Do You Think of Moving Trick or Treat?

Upper Macungie has moved Trick or Treat Night from a Friday night to Oct. 31. Tell us what you think.

Trick or Treat will actually be celebrated on Oct. 31 after a resolution passed last last week by .

The original date for the township's Trick or Treat night was Oct. 26, a Friday, which was meant to coincide with the school district's elementary school celebration.

Supervisors thought Oct. 26 was too early for Halloween and made the motion to move the date back to Oct. 31 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Tell us what you think of the move in the poll and the comments below:

You people are too late. The township voted to return trick-or-treat to the 26th in the first two minutes of the meeting. The only people who spoke in the audience all wanted it on the 26th. You have called us whiners and complainers but at least we took action and made our voices heard. Now everyone can enjoy a relaxful and fun Friday night Halloween. Don't like it? Leave your lights off, the kids don't want your candy. And the next time there is a St. Patrick's Day parade on the weekend instead of the actual holiday, I guess you can complain about that too. Happy Halloween!!

Good luck, of course the fact that this isn't a small little town anymore and that the township has welcomed 10's of thousands of trucks and cars from outside the township to come here every day and the fact that these drivers are completely unaware that the children will be roaming our roads for what in their minds is no reason whatsoever doesn't result in any of them being injured or killed. But do make sure that it is convenient for the parents.

Yeah, I'm sure the number of deaths and injuries will be off the charts just because the calendar doesn't say the 31st. If anything, "convenience" will allow parents to be with their children more. My children would not be "roaming our roads" regardless of the day of the week. And for all those who think we are ridiculous for wanting it to remain on a Friday should have been at the meeting to hear about the local churches that put on events for the community because it is more "convenient" to have those types of things on a Friday and not in the middle of the week. But I guess the meeting wasn't "convenient" for your schedules.

Shame on all of you for wanting it changed. They had to clearly point out in the patch article where the child was hit that it was scheduled the 31st but parental complaints made the township change it, almost makes it as if they are pointing guilt regardless of a teen that died and an SUV driver that was involved in it.

Did you write the article I am talking about? Sure sounds that way.
