Start the School Year with Bouncy Hair that Blings

Tangles Hair Salon in Richboro offers back-to-school specials.

If your whirlwind of back-to-school preparations includes a round of haircuts, this year, things could be a bit more interesting.

In anticipation of the school year, in Richboro is offering back-to-school specials, hair treatments and unique hair extensions meant to turn frazzled summer hair into bouncy, shiny locks with bling. The salon is the only one in the area with these kinds of specials.

Tangles, just over a year old, is a sleek family salon owned by mother and daughter duo Anne and Leah Bye that offers haircuts, color, treatments, extensions and facial waxing. They are currently offering a Paul Mitchell deep conditioning treatment for $15 (normally $20), a Healthy Sexy Hair product package of shampoo, conditioner and leave-in conditioner for $25 (normally $45) and a Paul Mitchell shampoo clarifying treatment (as an antidote to a summer of chlorine-soaked hair) for $15 (normally $20).

As always, for kids under 10 years old haircuts start at $15, women’s cuts start at $28 and men’s cuts start at $20.

In addition to treatments kids can come in for a variety of hair extensions or even to have their hair colored. According to Leah Bye, “The blue, the purple and the pink are very popular this year. I even did a little boy with purple bangs.”

Bye sported feather hair extensions, which can last up to seven months or so.  sophomore Olivia Rubino recently came to the salon for hot pink hair extensions which, she said, all the girls at school are getting. “I like them a lot. I even had all rainbow ones,” she offered.

While the hair extensions may appeal mainly to kids, according to Bye, everyone can use a moisturizing treatment.

“At the end of summer, most people’s hair is really beat,” Bye said.

Bye recommends their Paul Mitchell Awapuhi treatment at least once a month and stylist Daniela Rosati also recommends using a clarifying shampoo once a week, especially for chlorine damage.
