McDonald's Fundraiser to Benefit Smithwick Family Fund

The 19-year-old former Council Rock North student died last week in a car accident in Northampton Township.

The McDonald's in Richboro is holding a fundraiser Tuesday to benefit the Smithwick Family Fund. Money from the fund will be used to pay for the costs of the funeral for Cameron Smithwick, who died Dec. 8 in a car accident in Northampton Township.

Smithwick, who worked at the McDonald's, attended Council Rock North before moving back to Texas to be with his father. He had recently returned the area and was enrolled at Penn State.

All proceeds from sales between 4 and 8 p.m. will go to the fund to help the family.

"Cameron was a young man with the innate ability to make anyone laugh and smile whether or not they were having a good or bad day. He was enrolled to start college at Penn State in just a few weeks," according to his obituary.
