Local Navy Corpsman to be Honored Monday

Navy Corpsman Bryan Lynn will be honored Monday at 7 p.m. at the Northampton Township Municipal Building.

There will be a special Welcome Home and Flag Exchange event Monday to honor Navy Corpsman Bryan Lynn.

The event will welcome Lynn home from his recent deployment in Afghanistan. Typically the flag exchanges are held at the Board of Supervisors’ monthly meetings but since Lynn is only home for a few days, special arrangements were made.

The event will begin at 7 p.m. at the Northampton Township Administration Building.

The Northampton Patriots flag program began in 2003 to honor residents serving in Operation Iraqi Freedom. The program has since expanded to include Afghanistan and other hostile areas.

When the program first launched, 24 residents were known to be serving in the military. The flag display holds flags representing the branch of service and identifying the resident with a yellow streamer with his or her name affixed to it. When the person returns home, his or her military flag is replaced with an American flag.
