'Kisses to Carleigh' Raises Money to Remember Teen

Three families decided to raise money to plant a tree in memory of Carleigh Jones, the teen killed when she was struck by a car in August.

UPDATE: Carleigh's family has decided to keep the ceremony private, but the public can still make donations to the cause.

Carleigh Jones' family and peers weren't the only ones touched by her life – and some of her younger neighbors are proving just how loved she was.

"She was my children's most beloved babysitter," said neighbor Devon Sajeski.

"A lot the teachers have gotten involved," Sajeski said, and they "are donating a plaque for the tree."

Rolling Hills Principal Joe MacClay said the school hasn't been too involved in the project so the students organizing it can shine.

"We also do not want to take any attention away from their efforts," MacClay said. "I'm just really proud of these kids for what they're doing."

The will be at 4:15 on Oct. 11 behind Rolling Hills Elementary.
