Get Out Weekend Planner

Bucks County's in bloom with spring concerts, garden planning, and nature walks.

The temperatures are supposed to be rising and there are numerous ways to get out into the world this weekend. Check our Events Calendar for items that didn't make our top five. If you don't see an event listed, let us know in the comments or add it yourself.

Where/When: Neshaminy’s Maple Point Middle School, Saturday from 2pm - 10pm. 

Why Go: This isn’t your typical school concert. We’re talking about a 20-member string orchestra, flute choir, 30-member wind symphony, a 65-member symphony orchestra and a 45-member wind ensemble. Awesome.

POND EXTRAVAGANZA

Where/When: Gasper Landscape Design Center, Saturday and Sunday beginning at 11am. 

Why Go: Pat Grady will be on hand to answer all your questions about adding a pond to your garden- from taking care of the water, the plants, and, of course, the fish. 

Pricing: Free.

 

FAMILY PORTRAIT DAY 

 Where/When:, Sunday 2pm-8pm

Why Go: Get a spring portrait or an early 2011 Christmas card in the works. 

Pricing: $19/$15 for residents

 

NEWTOWN TREE PLANTERS 

Where/When:Saturday at 9am

Why Go: Volunteers are needed to plant some native trees to prevent erosion and just make the park more liveable. 

Pricing: Free, but if you have handtools, bring them. Contact newtown.tree@comcast.net for more information. 

 

SALAMANDER SECRETS 

Where/When: , Sunday at 2pm

Why Go: Come learn about these slimy critters and then head out to go find some real ones at the center. Yuck? Cool? No, we're sticking with yuck.
