Day Trips: Musikfest, Concert Series and Bolton Mansion

Find local attractions you can visit on about one tank of gas.

Looking to save money and get away? Try one of these trips you can enjoy on just one tank of gas: Rose Tree Park's summer concerts in Media, Musikfest in Allentown and Bolton Mansion in Levittown.

Rose Tree Park's 2012 Summer Concert Series

Address: , Rose Tree and Providence roads in Media
Distance from Northampton Patch: About 50 miles
Admission: Free parking and free admission
Hours: All concerts begin at 7:30 p.m. Wednesdays through Sundays
Summary: Bring a lawn chair or blanket and enjoy the outdoor music of all types of musicians and bands. From Blackthorn, to Pennsylvania Symphonic Winds to the Philly Party Band, there's something for everyone to enjoy. The free summer concert series runs through August 19. Concerts will be canceled due to inclement weather. There are no rain dates.

Bethlehem's Musikfest

Address: Multiple venues in both historic downtown Bethlehem and southside Bethlehem
Distance from Northampton Patch: About 43 miles
Admission: Free entertainment by street performers and on 14 stages; Ticket prices vary for main shows
Hours: Festival runs daily August 3-12. Check the online schedule for details on times.
Summary: More free music than ever before awaits Musikfest guests when the nation's largest free, non-gated music festival celebrates its 29th year, August 3-12 in Bethlehem. More than 500 performances will take place during the event's 10-day run, with great, free music on 14 of the festival's 15 stages. Make sure you come ready to do the Chicken Dance!

Bolton Mansion

Address: , 85 Holly Dr., Levittown

Admission:
 Adults are $8, student and seniors are $6
Hours: Tours are offered by appointment. Membership: Single $10; Family $15.  Students/Seniors (over 65) $5.
Summary: Bolton Mansion is an historical monument located in Bucks County. It was originally the home of Phineas Pemberton, founding member of the Fallsington Quaker Meeting and close friend to Governor William Penn. A prominent leader in the new colony, Pemberton's message of community involvement is still apparent in the "Friends of Bolton Mansion", a non-profit volunteer organization. The organization seeks to educate and encourage visitors through historic tours and community events. It also focuses on restoring the mansion. Check out the Concert On the Green, coming August 18, 7 to 8:30 p.m., with a rain date of August 19.
