Bucks County Resident Seeks Volunteers to Create Local Tribute to Sandy Hook Victims

Alex Pietrantonio needs your help to create a local tribute to the victims of the shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School.

Bucks County resident Alex Pietrantonio is working to create a tribute to the victims of Friday’s school shooting in Newtown, Conn. And what better place to put that tribute than here in Newtown, Pa.?

Pietrantonio is hoping to plant 26 Christmas trees—one for each of the victims in the shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School—somewhere in Newtown, Pa.

But he needs your help. He's looking for people to donate the trees and the time and labor to plant them. He’s also seeking suggestions for places to plant the trees.

“Although I do not have a child myself, I couldn't imagine losing one especially to a heinous crime like this and right before Christmas,” said Pietrantonio, a Bensalem resident who grew up in Lower Makefield.

"So far I have roughly 20 volunteers from Pa., NJ, and FL who have contacted me wanting to make this a reality," said Pietrantonio.  He added he has also been in contact with three landscaping companies willing to help.
