As many of you know, the holidays are fast approaching. Before we know it, we'll be looking to fill stockings, pick the perfect present for our children and relatives and take in the season to the fullest. While all of those festivities are full of fun and wonder, there is an often forgotten about group within our community who are completely excluded from the merriment- our senior citizens. Many of our seniors are left alone on holidays, as if the holiday never existed for them. For some of those seniors, they are getting donated gifts and other much needed services by Cheryl Campbell who runs The Christmas Gala/Solutions For Seniors. Through her charitable organization, she is able to provide these seniors with simple treasures such as gloves, blankets, a book, etc... Small items that are on their “wish list” that make them feel remembered and provide much needed cheer during this often desolate time. No contribution is too small (or too big)! If you find yourself in the position of donating a $5 blanket from Five Below or maybe you can offer a monetary gift card, your generous gift could make all the difference, not just at this time of year but year round. Maybe you can't donate anything but your time- that is of value as well! There are many events held year round that could use extra hands. I don't know about you, but I'd hate to think of my parents or grandparents alone during the holidays without family and acknowledgment.
If you could be that “angel” for one our our seniors in need, please contact Cheryl Campbell at 267-549-7602 or email@example.com. Checkout our website www.thechristmasgala.org for events and information.
