I've never seen an owl in the wild let alone photograph one. Where in the nature center did you see it?

Hi Matt, it was my first live screech owl siting and I was delighted to see it. The owl was about 20 feet off a trail back in the older growth woods that takes you to the other side of the lake from the Nature Center building. The screech owl is a small owl, no more than 9 inches tall. He would be easy to walk by without being noticed. If you walk Bach to the end of the boardwalk and take the trail to the left keep your eyes open as you walk back that trail. He blends in with the trees well and at first may only look like a stump from a broken tree limb. Of course if you hear some blue jays making a ruckus, it might tip you off that they are angry the owl is there.

I've never seen an owl that looks that cool in my daily travels. Great photo!

Thanks, Tom, I was looking for him today, but no luck. I did get a few other birds though.
