Welcome back, Patch Blogger!

What Should Replace Patagonia?

Tell us what should fill the empty store fronts throughout Northampton Township.

Patagonia closed its doors in November, and now Richboro has one less family-owned restaurant. The former bar and restaurant is located at 59 Almshouse Rd.

Patch wants the community's opinion on what should go here. What would you like to see in this location? Do you think another bar or restaurant should come in? Maybe it should be a diner? Perhaps you'd like to see something completely different What do you think?

Leave your thoughts in the comments section and keep an eye out for more vacancies throughout the area. If you see another property that we should highlight, e-mail me at jesseka@patch.com or tell me in the comments.

About this column: In Vacancy, Patch highlights empty storefronts throughout the township and solicits public opinion on what type of businesses should fill the vacancies. Related Topics: Commercial Real Estate, Patagonia, Real Estate, and vacancy

We need a Starbucks or Saladworks around here....but the place is big enough for a Chickie n Pete's! Traffic would become terrible though

The commercial history of the building that housed Patagonia (4 failed restaurants over a period of the last forty years) is an apt illustration for Richboro, the little crossroads that continues to dream about someday becoming a thriving village like Newtown.
Unfortunately, Richboro seems destined by fate (aided by years of inept local government) to remain a crossroads, albeit a more congested one. It may be time to accept that reality.

I feel the number of vacant stores in Richboro should indicate we certainly don't need a Giant and another shopping center built!!

Thanks for all of the comments and suggestions. I enjoyed Patagonia's happy hour, but I wouldn't mind a place to sit and do work, like a coffee house.

I think a a Starbucks or chickie and Pete's would would be great !! I saw someone mention a small town feel but with out side walks it makes it impossible to get the foot traffic that's so essential for small town commerce !!!

I would love something that isn't a chain. Totally degrades the character of the community. I like the coffee house idea.
