Trick-or-Treating Still on for Tonight

Power outages and unsafe conditions from Hurricane Sandy caused the township to reschedule Halloween trick-or-treating for Wednesday, Nov. 7.

Despite a winter weather advisory, trick-or-treating will go on tonight.

Trick-or-treaters may knock on your door this evening, as part of the rescheduled Halloween activity. Northampton Township postponed Halloween activities that were scheduled for Oct. 31 because of power outages and unsafe conditions throughout the community caused by Hurricane Sandy.

The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather and wind advisory, that could cause more power outages, and possibly 2 to 5 inches of snow accumulation. But neither the township or parks and recreation department have suggested skipping trick-or-treating tonight.

Township Manager Robert Pellegrino just asks parents and children to "use their best judgement" before heading out.

Are you planning on trick-or-treating tonight? Tell us in the comments.

One resident posted on FB that a flier was put in her mailbox that said trick-or-treating in the Green Valley area of Churchville is postponed again to Nov. 10 from 4-7 p.m.

@Patricia, as of 1:30 p.m. it was still a go, according to the township manager. I haven't heard anything from the township saying any different.
