Should 9/11 be a Federal Holiday?

This Tuesday marks the 11th anniversary of the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks on The World Trade Center and Pentagon. Do you think the government should commemorate the day and honor the lives lost and affected by the attacks by declaring it a Federal Holiday?

I voted no. We have enough holidays already and one for this will eventually just be another reason to not go to work instead of a day of reflection on the costs of freedom. In time it will become a comsumerism driven long wekend. We never forget Pearl Harbor yet there is no holiday. We have Memorial Day to remember our fallen, and Veteran's Day to remember our warriors. Those lost on 9/11 fit one or both catagories.

No. I feel people will reflect more by doing what they did on that day (like working or going to school) and going through the motions of the day instead of taking the day off and laying on the beach or whatever they would use the day off for. I agree with Eric we have Memorial Day for remembrance.
