Now that school is back in session the Northampton Township Police Department will increase monitoring speed limits in school zones and other areas throughout the township.
"This action is to remind motorists that school is open and our children are out and about getting to school," Chief of Police Barry Pilla said.
Additionally, residents have requested that motorists slow down along specific roads, which is another reason for this effort. Pilla added that there are no good excuses for risking your own life or another person's life by speeding.
"We ask that your please just obey the posted speed limit or be ready to pay the find and costs and receive your point," Pilla said.
Increased monitoring will take place on the following roads:
- Woodlake Drive
- Holland Road
- Florence Drive
- Bustleton Pike
- Twining Ford Road
- Worthington Mill Road
- Cherry Blosson Drive
