Police believe alcohol was involved in an accident that occurred Thursday night on Newtown Richboro Road.

According to Northampton Township police, the one-car crash occurred by Fir Drive shortly after 9:30 p.m.

When police arrived, the driver, a 17-year-old male from Churchville, was injured. 

He was transported by the Tri Hampton Rescue Squad to the Saint Mary Medical Center for the treatment of his injuries. Based on the officers observations, he was asked to submit to the drawing of blood and urine samples for analysis to determine if he was impaired at the time of the crash. 

Charges relating to DUI are pending the lab report, police said.
