Monday's snow and ice created perilous driving conditions in Northampton.

Northampton Township Police Chief Barry Pilla said officers responded to 11 accidents within one hour during the evening snow and ice storm. 

"All motorists need to remember to drive defensively and within the limits that the weather, traffic and road conditions dictate," Pilla said. "All motorists also need to be aware of and alert for black ice during extreme temperatures."
